After an incredible May full of wonderful sunshine, we now find ourselves in June. And with the arrival of June comes another new blog post in our ‘Healthy Living In Edinburgh‘ series.

Today we bring you #4 in the series and what better business to feature this month than Luke Bremner Fitness!

“That’s rather self-indulgent is it not?!“, I hear you cry.

Well yes, I guess it is a little bit… but there’s a very good reason why I decided to do this.

You see, behind the scenes we’ve been working hard and quietly opened our second facility without really saying too much about it.

We kept it fairly low key initially as there was a fair amount of work required to get the facility up and running (which is still on-going) and we wanted to be somewhat settled before letting people know.

And what better opportunity than this very blog post series to finally tell everyone about our exciting news and new facility / location in Edinburgh!

I’m excited to tell you all about our new facility and our plans for expansion moving forwards.

And of course how this expansion will allow us to better help you, the busy Edinburgh professional, regain control of your health and feel, look and perform your best.

So without further ado, let’s jump in.

Background & Introduction To The New Facility

As you may already know, I opened the first Luke Bremner Fitness studio back in April 2014, located at 3B Jamaica Street, EH3 6HH in Edinburgh’s New Town.

Fast forward 4 years and I’m proud to announce the opening of the second Luke Bremner Fitness studio at 37 North West Circus Place, EH3 6TW in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh.

The new studio is literally 5 minutes walk from our Jamaica Street headquarters which at first may seem a little odd…

Why have two facilities so close together rather than branching out to other areas of Edinburgh??

Well, there’s a few reasons actually:

  1. Having a very central location in Edinburgh has been a big benefit for us as a business. It’s very accessible and attracts both local residents, business owners and city centre professionals alike so it made sense to stay fairly central.
  2. We were having to turn away new clients every other week all through 2017 due to being fully booked and had a waiting list in operation. It was important the second location was close by so those on the waiting list for whom location was important could still join our programmes.
  3. Lastly, there’s some personal sentimental value to the new location at 37 North West Circus Place. Before I opened the Jamaica St studio, this was actually where I used to work. Starting way back in 2012, this is where it all began for myself and for Luke Bremner Fitness so it felt like a natural move to go back to where it all began!

So with all those things in mind I was grateful to have the opportunity to open our second studio here at this location 🙂

The Studio

There’s still a lot of work to do, but it’s beginning to take shape slowly but surely.

I’m still waiting for the signage to arrive outside and we’ll also be ‘sprucing it up’ over time (because frankly the entrance isn’t overly endearing!) but I thought I’d share a snap with you anyway so you know where we are.

So here’s our entrance – the alley to the left of Stockbridge Pharmacy, under the iconic triple arch stairway that connects North West Circus Place to India St:

The above the is the view from the main street. It’ll be very handy when the signage finally arrives as it’s easy to miss us without it!

I also took a second snap from the alley itself – we’re up the ramp and to the right:

While the entrance may, at first glance, not seem overly appealing, it’s been referred to as ‘rather charming’ by local residents and is characteristic of the architecture throughout Edinburgh – flats, houses and businesses tucked away in all nooks and crannies!

Inside, it’s actually rather spacious.

We have 4 studio rooms – 2 larger rooms and 2 smaller rooms.

The first of the larger rooms is already up and running as the private 1-to-1 personal training studio. We put all our focus on getting this room functional as soon as possible so we could begin enrolling new clients without any unnecessary delay.

Here’s what it looks like:

The other of the larger rooms will be set up soon and will be primarily for semi-private personal training and group training – a brand new service we’ve never previously offered. I’ll discuss this in more depth below.

The two smaller rooms will most likely be used for other professional services such as life coaching, advanced nutritional coaching and physiotherapy, for example, as we expand and offer more services.

Lastly, we also have a reception area, 2 bathrooms and two changing rooms with showers.

It’ll take a bit more time to get all the rooms and services up and running but hopefully within the next few months everything will be sorted.

Speaking of which, I think it’s time to change the focus of this blog away from the new facility and on to how it will allow us to reach and help more people in the Edinburgh area.

Our Future Plans

First and foremost, the opening of the new facility provides some much needed additional capacity.

As previously mentioned, we regrettably were having to turn away new clients who wanted our help every other week throughout 2017 due to capacity issues (the only downside of only offering 1-to-1 personal training!).

Thankfully, we are now able to take on new clients and those who were patiently waiting on the waiting list on our signature 12 week transformation and our 4 week jumpstart programmes.

So if you’re reading this now and have been considering working with us in the past, now is a great time to apply for your free consultation while we have this new availability for personal training. You can apply for your consultation by clicking here.

In addition to having the additional capacity for our specialist 1-to-1 personal training, the extra space here will allow us to launch our semi-private personal training programme.

This is something I’ve been considering for a very long time, but was unable to execute at our Jamaica St. studio.

I’m excited to launch this service at our new studio though as group training provides a more dynamic and energetic training environment, as well as being more cost effective than our private training options.

By limiting group numbers to 5 or 6, we can still deliver a high quality of service and maintaining the personal training element as well, which is why we refer to it as a ‘semi-private’ personal training model.

In addition, semi-private training means more people can benefit from our training methods and the powerful results they deliver in a friendly, fun and focused group environment.

I’m not sure exactly when we’ll will be ready to launch but I aim to have the service available for enrolment by the end of July/start of August at the latest.

I know this will be a popular programme so if you’re interested in learning more about it and getting notified when it’s ready don’t hesitate to contact us – we can notify you when the programme is ready before we do the full public launch.

In addition to the personal training programmes – which do also include the nutritional guidance, lifestyle advice and mindset coaching – we also aim to add other professional services.

At the moment I’m not quite sure what this will involve, but physiotherapy and chiropractic services, for example, are just some of the services I would like to be able to offer here at the new facility.

This would allow us to provide a more comprehensive service to our of our clients and be able to refer to our practitioners in house, all under one roof.

Above All Else…

I’m grateful to have the opportunity to even launch this new facility, grow the Luke Bremner Fitness team (welcoming our new coach Duncan) and be able to help more people in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

That’s what it’s all about at the end of the day.

It’s nice having the new facility and shiny new things, but at the core of Luke Bremner Fitness our primary focus is, and always will be, delivering the best service and results we possibly can to all of our clients.

The new facility is simply an additional means through which we can continue to accomplish that goal.

As you may have already gathered when reading our homepage, we’re not your average ‘personal trainers’.

Our mission is to redefine what personal training is and what it really needs to be in this modern age if its to truly help people change their health, fitness, body shape and happiness in the long run…

…a service that’s not all about the exercise (even though that is still an important part of it), but rather a completely comprehensive and holistic approach to helping you change.

An approach that also includes advanced nutrition coaching and lifestyle advice, as well as mindset coaching so that in additional to changing your body shape, you’ll also become truly healthier and happier, permanently.

As you can tell, I’m very passionate about this, and regardless which of our coaches you work with, you will experience this same level of passion and commitment to helping you succeed.

To find out more about what we do and how we can help you become fitter, stronger, healthier and happier, we are currently offering a free and non-obligation consultation at our studios. You can visit the studio, meet a member of the team and we’ll discuss your goals and our programme options in a relaxed conversation. To book your free consultation, simply complete our brief application form on this web-page by clicking here.
